Panama Domestic Flights

Panama has a good domestic air transportation system, with many airstrips spread throughout its territory. However, only main destinations offer daily departures and in most cases a return trip to Panama City is necessary when flying to multiple destinations.

Marcos A. Gelabert is the name of the domestic airport in Panama City, not to be confused with Tocumen International Airport.

Slow Lines Local airlines ask their customers to be at the airport one hour before departure. It is very important to comply with this requirement due to the fact that lines are very slow.

Kuna Yala When flying back to Panama City from Kuna Yala, be prepared for very little airport infrastructure.

Weight Restrictions There is a limit of 25 pounds per person allowed for checked bags.
